Competitor Mentions
Discover which competitors are mentioned on domains cited by AI models.
What Are Competitor Mentions?
When an AI model cites a domain as a source, it is important to know whether your competitors are also mentioned on that page. Competitor Mentions show you exactly that: which of your competitors are present on cited domains.
This information helps you understand the competitive landscape within AI sources and identify opportunities for your own presence.
Where to Find Competitor Mentions
Competitor Mentions are accessible through the Citation Table. After running a Citation Check, a button appears for each checked domain that opens the Competitor Mentions dialog.
- Navigate to Citations in the sidebar
- Run a Citation Check for the displayed domains
- Click the Competitor Mentions icon next to a domain

The Competitor Mentions Dialog
The dialog shows you the following for the selected domain:
- Mentioned competitors — Which of your configured competitors were found on this domain.
- Context — The text passages in which competitors are mentioned, so you can understand the context.
- Unmentioned competitors — Competitors that were not found on this domain.
Prerequisite
Competitor Mentions are only displayed if you have previously run a Citation Check and have competitors configured in your settings.
Identifying Opportunities
Competitor Mentions help you derive targeted actions:
- Competitor mentioned, you are not — This domain is an opportunity: the content is relevant to your industry, but your brand is missing. Check if you can get listed there.
- Both mentioned — Good starting position. Analyze whether your representation is positive and whether you can improve it.
- Neither mentioned — Potentially neutral content. Can still be relevant if the domain is important in your industry.
Recommended Action
Create a priority list: domains where competitors are mentioned but you are not should be at the top. For each domain, check whether you can pursue a guest post, partnership, or listing.
